suggest 的用法

1.suggest + that + S+ (should) + V→
2.suggest + Ving

3.例如
I suggest that you (should) stay home.
I suggest staying home.

advise, decide, demand. insist, propose, recommend, request

I suggest you to acquire a copy of the new laws from the association for reference.
Suggest

They suggested a plan to curb inflation.
Can you suggest a good restaurant for the gathering?

He suggested holding a meeting to discuss the problem.
Some people suggest increasing the supply of small and medium sized flats.
He suggested to hold a meeting ... ×
Some people suggest to increase the supply ... ×
He suggested his father to see a doctor. ×
I suggest you to look more carefully into the case. ×
He suggested that his father should see a doctor.
I suggest that you should look more carefully into the case.
He suggested (that) his father see a doctor.
I suggest (that) you look more carefully into the case.
I suggest that you should acquire a copy of the new laws from the association for reference.
I suggest that you acquire a copy of the new laws from the association for reference.
I suggest you acquire a copy of the new laws from the association for reference.

  • I suggest you to acquire ..
He suggested me to see a doctor.
He advised us to seek an expert’s opinions.

  • The English language has grown to the extent that it is only within the last four centuries that scholars have imposed any regularised structure on its written and spoken forms. This dynamic and beautiful wild beast of a language that has been allowed to roam unchecked for centuries is perhaps unique in its evolution. Interestingly, it is in complete contrast to languages such as ancient Herbrew, which changed little over thousands of years because of the rigid control by copyists. English is no less a language, despite its anologue process of development and its continous fludity.
Becasue of the largely unchecked progress of the English language, the English of Chaucer, written or spoken , is imcomprehensible to the average English speaker. The nineteenth century saw the emergence of a new legalistic pedantry in academic circles in categorising what constitutes correct English and many of the new rules have since been discredited as formalistic nonsense.
